Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has issued an update on investigations into the death of a worker, Sammy Kyengo, whose body was found at the Talanta Stadium construction site.
Speaking on Wednesday, September 16, he said investigators had questioned 11 people connected to the site as part of efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the worker.
Murkomen said the individuals were interrogated and their statements recorded, but the information obtained had not provided a significant breakthrough in the investigation.
"A total of eleven individuals connected to the site were interrogated and their statements recorded. However, none provided information capable of advancing the investigations significantly," he said.
Murkomen said investigators were continuing to pursue other leads as they sought to establish what led to Kyengo's death.

He said authorities were also awaiting toxicology results while reviewing statements and forensic evidence collected during the investigation.
"Investigators continue to pursue all available leads, including awaiting the toxicology results and reviewing recorded statements and forensic evidence, with a view to identifying any persons of interest and ensuring that any culpable individuals are brought to justice," he added.
Murkomen further said the National Police Service had maintained communication with Kyengo's family throughout the investigation.
He said keeping the family informed was intended to promote transparency and confidence in the investigative process.
"The National Police Service has maintained regular communication with the family of the late Mr. Kyengo and has kept them informed at every stage of the investigations.
"This has been done to ensure transparency, build confidence in the investigative process, and assure the family that every effort is being made to establish the truth surrounding the death of their kin," he further said.
Elsewhere, this comes days after NPS launched investigations into the violence witnessed during a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party meeting in Nembure, Embu County.
In a statement on Saturday night, September 12, NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga said the incident occurred after a group of individuals allegedly attempted to storm the UDA meeting, which was presided over by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Nyaga noted that police officers responded promptly and repulsed the group, with several suspects being arrested at the scene.
"The National Police Service condemns in the strongest possible terms the outrageous and criminal conduct of a group of individuals who attempted to storm a public meeting presided over by the Deputy President, H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, in Nembure, Embu County.
"Upon the group's unlawful attempt to breach the meeting, officers acted decisively and repulsed the assailants. Several suspects were arrested at the scene, and law and order was swiftly restored," he stated.
However, one person died during the violence while several others sustained injuries; six vehicles were also torched during the incident.
Nyaga said investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident, and no effort will be spared in identifying and bringing to justice all persons involved," the NPS Spokesperson said.
Nyaga warned that anyone who will be found to have participated in the incident or similar acts of lawlessness would face legal action.
"Let this serve as an unequivocal warning: any individual found to have participated in this or any similar act of lawlessness will be pursued relentlessly. Stern action will be taken in accordance with the law. There will be no exceptions," he added.
