Cheruiyot reckoned that Ruto will get at least 70 percent of the votes cast in 2027.
On Friday, September 18, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot slammed Gachagua for claiming that all Kenyans were against President William Ruto's re-election.
Speaking in West Pokot, Cheruiyot told Gachagua that he did not have the capacity to speak on behalf of Kenyans.
He added that the citizens could see the kind of work that the President has done in the health, education, and agriculture sectors, and would judge him based on that.
"I would like to tell the broker from Wamunyoro. Kenyans can see the work that the President has done. When Ruto's votes start streaming in, you will not believe," he stated,
The Kericho Senator downplayed the United Opposition, stating that Ruto should not get less than 70 percent of the votes cast in 2027, if he faces such weak competition.

He told the United Opposition to start planning for the 2032 election because the incumbent had already secured his re-election.
"Ruto, as your supporters, if you will be competing with the likes of Kalonzo, you will let us down if you do not get at least 70 per cent of the votes," he stated.
Cheruiyot further threw jabs at some of the young leaders who are gaining popularity across the country. He warned that some of them pretend to be concerned Kenyans, yet they have questionable character.
"Some of these young leaders claim that they want to rescue the country, yet they are the biggest extortionists. You can ask the governors who appear before the committees. The difference between them and bandits is that they wear suits," he added.
His recent remarks come just days after he told President Ruto to stop engaging in a war of words with the Opposition and focus on delivering his promises to the people.
The Senator claimed that those fighting the President were below his political class, and asked him to let him deal with them.
