In the advertisement on Tuesday, September 22, PSC invited Kenyans to apply for the promotional and entry-level positions.  

The highest number of promotional positions is under the Office of the Attorney General, with the role of Deputy Chief State Counsel having 257 openings, Principal State Counsel 145, and Chief State Counsel 91. 

PSC also advertised 146 positions for Assistant Director, Social Development, under the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs.

Other vacancies include Assistant Director, Human Resource Management and Development under the Public Service State Department (50), Chief Superintending Inspector of Mines (17) and Chief Superintending Geologist (12), all under the State Department for Mining.

Other State Departments with promotional vacancies include: Cabinet Affairs, Correctional Services, Environment and Climate Change, Forestry, Shipping and Maritime Affairs and Gender. 

Meanwhile, the entry-level vacancies include Programme Officer II under the Cabinet Affairs State Department (2), Shipping and Maritime Affairs Officer II (10), Petroleum Officer- Geologist II (4), Petroleum Officer – Geophysicist II (4), Petroleum Officer (Geo-Chemist) II (4), Petroleum Officer - Engineer II (4), Petroleum Environment Analyst II (2) and Petroleum Economic Analyst II (3), 

Others are Petroleum Audit & Risk Analyst II (1), Petroleum Social Development Analyst II (3), Petroleum Technologist III (5), Social Development Officer II (15), Laboratory Technologist II (3) and Gemologist II (4). 

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online via the PSC website: www.publicservice.go.ke. 

Further, the commission said the deadline for submitting applications for the entry-level and promotional positions is October 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM. 

“Applications should be received on or before 13th October, 2026 by 5.00 P.M East African Time (EAT),” PSC added. 

This comes a week after PSC announced 1,000 internship vacancies under the State Department for Basic Education in the Ministry of Education.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, September 15, the PSC said the internship vacancies are under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

According to the commission, successful candidates will be deployed to schools at the sub-county level.

“The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education, has declared 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5. 

“Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at Sub-county level, where, in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, the interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms,” read the notice.

PSC invited interested candidates to submit their applications online through the Public Service Commission’s job portal accessible through www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke. 

The deadline for submitting the applications is October 5, 2026.
