A three-judge bench has nullified the appointment of 130 people who were selected to sit in various parastatals.
On Thursday the bench established that the appointment of 130 Kenyans including politicians to various parastatals in 2018 was unconstitutional.
In addition, the court revoked all gazette notices issued in relation to the designations made by Cabinet Secretaries and President Uhuru Kenyatta in June 2018.
The court also invalidated some post-2010 statutes which allow appointments to parastatals without requiring fair competition or merit.
According to the High Court bench "people of Kenya desired that parastatal appointments must be competitive, fair and transparent considering persons with disabilities and Kenya's diverse communities".
