Deputy President William Ruto has called for a national dialogue in addressing the challenges facing the country.
Speaking during the 2021 annual National prayer breakfast, the DP noted that while the Covid-19 pandemic is a major setback for the country, it has provided an opportunity for us to evaluate where we are as a country.
He noted that God may be using Covid-19 as a way of uniting the country and asking leaders to come together and speak in one voice.
According to the DP, now is the best time for Kenyans to come together since BBI and Tanga tanga rallies have been halted due to the pandemic.

“So much has happened. But as things stand today, Tangatanga tours are not there and the reggae has also stopped. We thus need to do something together… Maybe God is saying we come reason together,” he said.
The national prayer breakfast was the first time the DP and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta met in public since February 2021.
It is also the third time they are meeting in public this year amid claims that the two have fallen out and no longer read from the same script.
Some of the functions included the Covid-19 vaccination exercise by State Officers, the State visit by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu among others.
