Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in five counties, including Nairobi and Nyeri, on Wednesday.

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in five counties on Wednesday, September 23, as the utility company carries out maintenance works.

In a notice on Tuesday, September 22, the company said the scheduled outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Nyeri, Meru, Murang’a and Kitui counties.

In Nairobi County, parts of Kitsuru will experience a power interruption affecting part of Kirawa Road and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, the interruption will affect Tumutumu Hospital, Ngandu Girls and several surrounding areas. 

The affected locations include Gatomboya, Githima, Cosato Coffee Mill, Giaituu, Tegu Coffee Factory, Mathaithi, Rugoka, Giagatika Market and Mbogo-Ini.

Other affected areas in Nyeri are Tumutumu Primary School, Tumutumu Hospital, Tumutumu Secondary School, Karia, Ikonju, Kiangoma Market, Kiangoma Primary School, Karie Coffee Factory, Mungaria Polytechnic, Wakamata, Kaiyaba and Mathira Technical Institute.

Ngandu Girls Secondary School, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Meru County, Kenya Power listed Kinoro Tea Factory and Egoji Hospital among the areas scheduled for interruption. 

The outage will also affect Miruriri Market, Miruriri Girls Secondary School, Kauro Village, Giumpu, Kiaruo Village and New Blaze Primary School.

Other affected areas include Kuiri Coffee Factory, Rigiri Coffee Factory, Kinoro Market, Rwarene Primary School, Mweru Market, KARI Centre, Rai Coffee Factory, St. Mary Igoji, Geeto Primary School, Gatangugi Market, Mboroga and adjacent customers.

In Murang’a County, power interruptions will affect Njumbi, Ngutu and Kanorero. 

Kenya Power also listed Nyakianga, Gikoe, Kangunu, Muiriini, Karunge and Kanjahi among the affected areas, together with adjacent customers.

In Kitui County, the scheduled interruption will affect Kalisasi, Mumbuni and Musukini. 

Other areas listed are Mwingi Hospital, Ndaluni, Katalwa, Muutwaathi and Mathyakani, as well as adjacent customers.
