KPLC Announces Power Cuts in 7 Counties on Thursday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across seven counties on Thursday, September 24.

In a notice on Wednesday, September 23, the company said the planned interruptions will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Kajiado, Kericho, Narok, Nyeri, Kiambu and Mombasa counties.

In Nairobi County, power interruptions will affect parts of Kitsuru and Karen. The affected areas in Kitsuru include Tate Close, Kitsuru Road and Forward Close.

In Karen, the interruption will affect Ololua Close, West Wood Road, Kerapon Road, Mwitu Estate, Mutero PCEA, Mutero Estates, Karen Police Station, Karen Hub, Windy Ridge and Ngong View Estate. 

Other affected locations include Karen Roses, Tree Lane, Shell Petrol Station Karen Shopping Centre, Kerarapon Shell, Eagles Church, Karen Community Church and Total Petrol Station.

In Kajiado County, the interruption will affect part of Kajiado Town and surrounding areas. 

The affected locations include Saab Royale, Suguna Farm, Oloosuyian, Referral Road, Showground, Esokota, Osilingi Farm, Kipeto, Jua Kali, East Matt and Urban.

In Kericho County, parts of Bureti will experience a power interruption affecting Ngoinaroad Market, Kabartega School, Kaminjeiwet School, Botony School and the DC Residence.

Narok County will have an interruption covering part of Ololunga and Mulot. 

The affected locations include Ololunga Town, Megenyu Market, Oleshapani Market, Sogam Market, Nkorinkori Market, Lemek Market, Aitong Market and Sogoo Market.

Other affected areas in Narok include Tendwet Market, Kimogoro Market, Mulot Market, Baraka Market, Kipturgut Market, Kutete Market, Olmirani Market, Olchoro Market and Melelo Market.

In Nyeri County, power cuts will affect three separate areas. Gatarakwa Girls and Bellevue will include Kabendera Primary School, Kabendera Market, Bellevue Market, Gatarakwa Market and Gatarakwa Girls.

The Chaka and Kihanjo areas will also be affected, including Chaka Market, Kiganjo Cereals, Kiganjo Shopping Centre, Maisha Maize Millers and Kiganjo KCC.

The Blue Valley and Witemere areas will experience interruptions affecting PGH Incinerator, Blue Valley Affordable Housing, Witemere Estate and Waibochi Farm.

In Kiambu County, power interruptions will affect Ndumbuini and part of Kinoo 87, including Ndumbuini Market, UON Kabete Vet, Uthiru 87, Uthiru Girls, Njathaini, Kanyariri Market and Kanyariri Police.

Kimende and Kinale will also be affected, with the listed areas including Rukuma, Kambaa, Kimende, Magina, Carbacid Factory, Maingi, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kirasha, Sulmac and Kwa Edward.

Another Kiambu interruption covering Bob Harries Road and Mangu Road will affect Mungetho, Kiaora Farm, Mtaro Farm, Azania Coffee Farm, Everflora Farm, Diana Farm, Mashule Estate, Karakuta Coffee Estate, Kwa Ndumbe Market and Mutuma Market.

The interruption will also cover Gitatuiya, Mangu Market, Igegania Market, St. Francis Mangu Girls, Kairi Market, Kagabwa, St. Anne High School, Makwa Coffee Farm, Mwea Police, Oriti Coffee Estate, Kigio Village, Kihenia Farm, Runyua Farmers, Gatukuyu Market, Karibaribi, Kirika Farm, Uzima Centre, Bubbles, Maryhill Girls and Eaagads Farm.

In Mombasa County, the Bamburi, Utange and Kiembeni areas will be affected. 

The listed locations include Utange, Masai Utange, Joho Secondary School, Utange Gorofani, Afro Estate, Nimrod Taabu, Wema Centre, Palestina, Bamburi Kiembeni Junction and Pretro City.

Other affected locations in the Mombasa interruption include Bamburi Mwisho, Stage ya Paka, Kerav Estate, Lake View, Bashir, Bustani Estate, Nairobi Estate, Naivas Bamburi, Masters, Kadzandani, Matingasi, Fisheries, Alfa Hospital and Kenya Projects.
