The SHA CEO also said the providers will be issued with an extension to their healthcare provider contracts, which ended on September 30, to cover the additional 14 days through the e-contracting platform.
Mwangangi mentioned that the providers are required to confirm acceptance, sign, and return the agreement within three days.
“Providers are required to confirm acceptance, sign, and return the agreement within three (3) days to ensure continuity of services to SHA beneficiaries. Service provision to SHA beneficiaries will only continue in facilities that accept the 14-day extension period,” she stated.
Further, Mwangangi advised healthcare providers that do not accept the extension to make arrangements with their respective SHA county managers to transfer patients receiving ongoing care to contracted facilities.
At the same time, the SHA CEO announced that the authority will conduct dedicated HAKIKA contracting clinics in every county to assist healthcare providers in completing the contracting process.
The clinics will begin on Monday, October 5, 2026, through the respective SHA county offices.
“To support providers in completing the contracting process for the 2026–2029 contracting cycle, SHA will conduct dedicated HAKIKA contracting clinics in every county beginning Monday, 5th October 2026, through the respective SHA County Offices,” she said.
On September 17, SHA announced the official launch of its E-Contracting Portal, paving the way for healthcare providers to submit applications for the new contracting cycle.
In a statement, the authority said the portal will be used to facilitate the application and contracting of healthcare providers under four funds.
These include the Primary Health Care Fund (PHCF), Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund (ECCIF), and Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF).
SHA also noted that the portal would now serve as the official platform through which healthcare providers can apply for contracts under the new cycle.
