Raila Odinga Junior warned youths against blindly following some of the leaders who have recently ditched the ODM party
Raila Odinga Junior warned youths against blindly following some of the leaders who have recently ditched the ODM party to pursue new political paths.
Speaking in Mombasa on Friday, October 2, Raila Junior claimed that while the new movements of the leaders seem shiny, some of them are pitfalls.
He said that some of the leaders who had been lured to leave the party led by the late Raila Odinga would suffer a huge hit to their political careers.
"Baba left us in ODM. I know there are a few who have left and gone elsewhere, but I would like to tell the youths that not all that glitters is gold," he stated.
Raila Junior said that the haemorrhage from ODM was uncalled for, stating that leaders should have found a way to address their indifference.

He made his stance clear on which faction of the divided party he belonged to, stating that he was following the guidance the late Odinga gave.
"ODM is currently in the broad-based government. Let us stick together and solve the issues we have," he added.
Raila Junior shared his opinion during a candle-lighting ceremony in Mombasa, where he joined other Kenyans to commemorate the first anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
The key figures under Linda Mwananchi have since formed new political parties. Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino unveiled The Mwananchi Party (TMP), which he plans to use to run for Nairobi Governor.
Siaya Governor James Orengo, who was known as the late Raila's right-hand man, also confirmed that he would be launching his political vehicle. Sources close to the governor have hinted that the party will be known as the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi also registered the People's Renaissance Movement (PM), where he is the party leader.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is set to launch his new political party as well. However, a recent ruling by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) poses a new dilemma for the Senator.
Sifuna can choose to proceed with the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM), launch his own party, or join one of the parties he was offered by fellow leaders in the United Opposition.
