Ndindi Nyoro has slammed Ruto over his promise to reserve 20 percent of the Affordable Housing units for teachers.

Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro has slammed President William Ruto over his promise to reserve 20 percent of the Affordable Housing units for teachers.

Speaking in Meru County on Monday, October 5, Nyoro told Ruto that teachers did not need the affordable houses, but their pay slips to be liberated.

He argued that the teachers were displeased with the Housing Levy deductions from their pay, yet they did not enjoy the benefits.

"Teachers are asking why you are deducting Housing Levy money from them for houses which they cannot buy. They don't want you to lie to them by promising them houses; they want you to restore the dignity of their payslip.

"We want dignity for our teachers. They already have houses and means to get them; what they want is the government to stop taking statutory deductions which do not help them," Nyoro said.

The Kiharu Lawmaker renewed his push for the Head of State to make public the agreements between the Kenya government and the Dangote Group for the Lamu Refinery.

He further demanded that the list of shareholders of the Lamu Refinery be published, arguing that it Ruto releasing it to Kenyans is not a favour but their right.

Nyoro sensationally claimed that Ruto was reluctant to publish the list of shareholders because he was allegedly on it.

"Kenyans want to know the shareholders, and we know that he is among them. We will not allow him to use public funds to buy shares at the Dangote Company.

"You have to give us the investment agreement. It should not be the case that Kenyan has signed a deal that has locked itself for many years. I am giving you 14 days to release it, or I will, and Kenyans will know that you are among the shareholders," he added.

Earlier, President William Ruto announced that teachers who go on retirement will receive their retirement benefits within 10 days.

Speaking during the 2026 World Teachers' Day celebrations, he said that the new directive will take effect in the next three months.

He explained that the move would ensure that teachers retire with dignity after a lifetime of service.
