Sifuna stated that he expected the President to insult him because he did the same to his political father.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said that he is not moved by President William Ruto's consistent verbal attacks on him.

Speaking during a media engagement on Friday, October 9, Sifuna stated that he expected the President to insult him because he did the same to his political father, the late Raila Odinga

"Someone who was used to insulting your father will not hesitate to insult you. All those names that he has called me, he called Raila," he stated.

Sifuna reiterated his call for Ruto to be removed from office in2027, stating that he made an irredeemable mistake by breaking away from his oath of office.

He reiterated that development projects such as the Talanta Stadium, which he described as beautiful, were not enough to right the wrongs he committed.

"You cannot tell us that just because you built Talanta Stadium, we should be clapping for you. No! We want transparency. Ruto has betrayed his oath/There is no greater failure than you betraying your oath of office," the Linda Mwananchi Leader stated.

The Nairobi Senator revealed he is working with a team of experts to draft his 2027 manifesto. He said that the team has already given him a plan to cut excessive expenditure by up to Ksh1.8 trillion within 15 months.

"First, they can cut from our current budget between Ksh500 billion and Ksh1.8 trillion wastage,  and we will show you line by line where the wastage is and where we are going to cut," he added.

He revealed that the key areas of focus to reduce reckless expenditure include the Education and Medical sectors.

"The reason why they do not have data is that Education has the biggest share of our budget, and that is where the pilferage is happening.

"We will give all hospitals in Kenya a guarantee that for as long as you render service, we will pay you in 30 days, no stories. But if we catch you even one time trying to clear a fraudulent claim, you are out of the system," Sifuna stated.

Sifuna defended his decision to remain a member of ODM while refusing to seek re-election on its ticket. He argues that quitting his seat ten months before the general election would needlessly burden the country and the taxpayer.

He insisted he had not resigned from the party and was only declaring that he would not run on its ticket in 2027.
