Waiguru has claimed that opposition leaders will not unite ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru has claimed that opposition leaders will not unite ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking on Friday, October 10, Waiguru reckoned that while Opposition leaders would, as individuals, want to unite, the people backing them are piling pressure on each of them to go for the top seat.
She claimed that most of the leaders' supporters have issued one common ultimatum: either their candidate is named the flagbearer, or they decamp to President William Ruto's side.
"You do not need to be a science expert to know that they will not unite. If they cannot agree at the governor level, what makes you think they'll agree at the national level?
"The Kambas have said that if it is not Kalonzo, they will go to Ruto. The Kisiis have said that if it is not Matiang'i, they will go to Ruto. There are seven candidates; you don't need to be a scientist to see the truth," Waiguru stated.

The Governor opined that Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's recent reference to President William Ruto as 'my brother' is a telltale sign of good things to come.
She sensationally claimed that 35 out of the 47 counties support President Ruto's re-election, and warned Mount Kenya that they could end up in the Opposition after 2027.
Waiguru revealed her intention to become Kenya's President, but stated that she was waiting for the right time.
"One day I would like to be the President of Kenya. It may look easy, but it is not; 2027 is not the time," the Kirinyaga County Chief reiterated.
Earlier, Nairobi Senator Edwin reiterated that Linda Mwananchi is committed to having a single candidate to face President Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
He explained that Linda Mwananchi will have discussions with all the leaders, who all agree that the overriding commitment is to rescue the country from the incumbent.
"William Ruto is an existential threat who should not be allowed in office longer than he should. Therefore, we must all work together," Sifuna stated.
