Cherargei threatened to revive the push to extend the presidential term limit to seven years.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei threatened to revive the push to extend the presidential term limit to seven years.
Speaking on Monday, October 12, Cherargei claimed that those in the Opposition had no chance to beat President William Ruto in the August 2027 polls.
He added that they had no agenda for the country, and warned that if they still had no plan by 2032, he could push for the extension of the presidential term to seven years so that Ruto serves as president for 14 years.
"Your Excellency, these people don't have an agenda. We want equity. We cannot even talk about 2027 because you have already won.
"Let them start planning from 2032, and if they play around and fail to organise themselves, I will come back with my plan to extend the term limits so that you continue ruling the country," Cherargei said.

The Nandi Senator asked the President to let him deal with Nairobi Counterpart, Edwin Sifuna, who has been involved in an exchange of words with Ruto. He argued that since he was at his level, the position should delegate dealing with Sifuna to him and focus on national matters.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen also rubbished Sifuna's growing popularity in the country, insisting that he is no match for his boss. Murkomen hit out at the Nairobi Senator over his alleged love for the bottle.
"I saw someone who was my mono in university trying to compete with you. The guy loves Johnny Walker and mukhombero; he cannot compete with you or even hold a meeting like this," Murkomen stated.
He further teased that if he found him consuming illicit brew, then he would throw him behind bars.
On his part, the President reiterated that he will floor the United Opposition and their alleged sponsor in the upcoming General Election.
He added that they had no plan to improve the country or better the lives of Kenyans.
