"The best places to visit and the most hospitable people! We will compliment Rwanda than any other country in East Africa. Thank you, FIA," he wrote.
Earlier, Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali announced a 10-year agreement to bring the sport back to Africa, with Rwanda set to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix in the early 2030s.
Domenicali said the race will join the Formula 1 calendar after the completion of a new purpose-built circuit in Bugesera, Rwanda.
He added that the agreement would expand the sport's global reach and bring it closer to fans across Africa and other parts of the world.
"With Rwanda joining the calendar from the next decade, our sport will race in every inhabited continent, bringing the World Championship closer than ever to fans around the globe," he said.
Domenicali added that the return would give millions of African fans an opportunity to experience the sport more closely, noting that the continent already had a substantial and rapidly growing fan base.
Rwanda President Paul Kagame welcomed the agreement, describing it as a historic moment for Africa after more than 30 years without hosting the world's premier motorsport championship.
"Today belongs to Africa. For more than three decades, the world’s premier motorsport championship has raced without this continent, and that changes with this agreement," he wrote.
