"You can see him starting to run mad; his work is to insult us every day."
On Friday, October 16, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna called out President William Ruto for allegedly trying to impose himself on the Masinde Muliro Market.
Speaking in Trans Nzoia County, Sifuna questioned why the President wanted to launch the market, yet it was funded by the county government.
He claimed that Ruto was eager to launch the project because he wanted to create a narrative that it was his own after he failed to establish projects in the country.
"You will understand the difference between the National and county government roles. You cannot force yourself on a county project; why don't you build yours?
"You want to impose yourself on a market you have found has already been built because you have failed to work for Kenyans. Stop moving around opening markets because that is the role of governors," Sifuna stated.

The Linda Mwananchi Movement Leader claimed that President Ruto had started running mad, citing the constant insulting of the leaders in the opposition.
He maintained that the Head of State will continue being agitated by him and other leaders until he submits to constitutionalism and the rule of law.
Sifuna reckoned that President Ruto had lost the support of most Kenyans and that he would struggle to secure his re-election in 2027.
"Let nobody lie to you that there is any part of the country that will vote for William Ruto. You can see him starting to run mad; his work is to insult us every day. Nonetheless, we are telling him that at the end of the day, he will have to understand constitutionalism and what it means," he stated.
Earlier, Ruto slammed Sifuna, who said that his only agenda is to restore constitutionalism and the rule of law. He argued that constitutionalism was nothing without an agenda.
He explained that under constitutionalism, Kenya prides itself on being a democracy, which allows its citizens to distinguish a good plan from a bad one, and a good agenda from no agenda.
