Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital noted that maternal deaths remained a serious concern and reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality healthcare services to patients.

The hospital said it had initiated a review involving different clinical disciplines to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and assess the care provided to the patient.
"The hospital has undertaken an internal multidisciplinary clinical review of the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident, in accordance with established maternal healthcare quality assurance procedures," the statement further read.

Elsewhere, Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has launched investigations following a viral video of a patient raising concerns about the quality of care provided at the facility.
In a statement earlier Sunday, KNH CEO Richard Lesiyampe said the hospital had taken note of the viral video and had initiated investigations to establish the facts surrounding the concerns raised by the patient.
"Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has noted a video circulating on social media raising concerns about the quality of care provided to one of our valued patients.
"The Hospital takes these concerns seriously and has initiated investigations to establish the facts and determine any appropriate action," the statement read.
Lesiyampe invited the patient and her representatives to meet with its management team to discuss the concerns and work towards a resolution.
The KNH CEO also asked the patient or her representatives to contact him or the hospital's Director, Clinical Services and Director of Nursing Services.
"KNH, in the meantime, invites the patient and/or her representatives to meet with the Hospital Management team at the earliest opportunity to discuss the concerns raised and work towards an appropriate resolution," the statement added.
In the viral video circulating on social media, the patient claimed that KNH referred her to another facility for an X-ray.
She alleged that after spending Ksh45,000 on the scan, the hospital declined to accept the images, forcing her to turn to TikTok to raise funds for another X-ray.
The patient further claimed that she had never received the results of either the X-ray or an ultrasound conducted at the facility.
"I am very disappointed with Kenyatta National Hospital. You have done me bad, and I am not afraid of speaking out," she stated.
