Kalonzo boldly claimed that he would beat Ruto in Luo Nyanza if he were named as the United Opposition's flagbearer.

The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA) leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has sensationally claimed that he can floor President William Ruto in Luo Nyanza if the United Opposition names him as its flagbearer.

Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, October 19, Kalonzo explained that the people of Luo Nyanza have not forgotten some of the sentiments that Ruto made about the late Raila Odinga.

He particularly referred to Ruto's claim that he would retire the late Raila to Bondo. Kalonzo argued that the people had not forgotten the statements and would make the right decision in August 2027.

"Truth be told, if I am given the flagship, I want to assure Kenyans that I will defeat William Ruto in Luo Nyanza. That is a fact because I know that our citizens in Luo Nyanza are too fair-minded. You cannot hoodwink them.

"These are the same people who said that watasafirisha Baba bila yeye kujua. These are the same people who are saying that they are going to cause accidents of leaders," he stated.

The Wiper Leader said he had planned a tour of Luo Nyanza this week but had postponed it due to unavoidable circumstances.

"I want to go to Migori and Homa Bay. In fact, I was to make that trip this Wednesday, but after consultation, we think that we can do it most probably some time next week," he stated.

He urged the youth in the region not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause chaos and inflict harm on their fellows.

Kalonzo reiterated the sentiments of Kenya's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Ida Odinga, who questioned why Luos were being used to kill their fellow tribesmen.

He further reiterated his demands to President Ruto over his remarks that some of the leaders in the Opposition would be met with accidents.

"I challenged Ruto to come out clean on what he meant when he said that leaders will be met with accidents," he said.

Earlier, Kalonzo said that former President Uhuru Kenyatta skipped the Raila Odinga Anniversary celebration in Bondo because an advance team that he had sent raised concerns about his safety.
