"Students have been urged to return to universities and maintain calm following the signing of an agreement between the Government and the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU), which led to the suspension of the lecturers’ strike and the resumption of learning," the update read.
This comes days after The University of Eldoret, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and Kibabii University announced dates for the resumption of teaching and learning activities following the conclusion of the nationwide university staff industrial action.

The institutions issued separate notices on Saturday, October 31, outlining when students are expected to return to class.
The University of Eldoret announced that teaching and learning activities would officially resume on Monday, November 2, 2026.

In an internal memo addressed to all students, Acting Registrar Academic Dr Hoseah Kiplagat directed learners to report for lectures on the stated date and adhere to the published teaching timetable.
"Consequently, all students are expected to report for lectures on the stated date, strictly adhere to the published teaching timetable, and actively participate in all scheduled academic activities," the memo stated.
The university added that the Senate would communicate any necessary adjustments to the academic calendar resulting from the interruption in due course.
JKUAT also directed students to resume learning activities for the 2026/2027 academic year on Monday, November 2.
In a notice signed by Registrar Academic Affairs Dr Aggrey Wanyama, the university announced an extension of the session reporting and unit registration deadline to Monday, November 9, to allow students with outstanding fee balances to clear them.
"Session reporting and registration of units have been extended to Monday, 9th November 2026. This is meant to allow any student with fee arrears to clear as required by the Fee Payment Policy," the notice stated.
However, JKUAT cautioned that only students who had completed their registration would be allowed to access university services and sit for end-of-semester examinations.
Meanwhile, Kibabii University set Tuesday, November 3, as the date for the resumption of teaching and learning activities for Semester One of the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a memo dated October 31, Registrar Academic Affairs Dr Jackline Okello Alari informed students that lectures would resume at 8:00 a.m.
Unlike the other two institutions, Kibabii University announced that it would introduce a new teaching timetable to guide students following the interruption.
The university further indicated that academic activities would be accelerated to compensate for the lost time and ensure that the semester’s academic content was adequately covered.
"To make up for the lost time, teaching and learning activities will be accelerated to ensure effective coverage of the semester’s academic content within the available time," the memo stated.
