"Those who said that I was gone (dead) are the ones who gave me the strength to stand up and recover faster," he said.

The Siaya Leader revealed that several government leaders visited him when he was admitted to hospital, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. President William Ruto also checked up on him.
"I was visited by the Prime Minister twice when I was in hospital. The President himself also came, and we sat with him here, and I told him that I am not that sick," he added.
Oburu issued the update when he hosted a joint team from the National Assembly and the Senate, who paid him a courtesy call at his Kitsuru home.
He has engaged in mild political activities from his house. Earlier this week, he hosted Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who had defected from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to join ODM.
Sakaja announced plans to defend his seat on an ODM ticket. He said that he joined the Orange Party after heeding the late Raila Odinga's call.
Oburu also hosted former West Pokot County Senator Samuel Poghisio, who defected from KANU. Poghisio declared interest in running for county governor under ODM.
