Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Baraaa has claimed that he’ll be the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and Coordination of National Government if Deputy President William Ruto becomes president in 2022.

Speaking during a service at Kimalel church in Kapseret Sub-Count, Didmus dismissed claims of bad blood between him and the DP, noting that his recent break from political activities should not be interpreted to mean that he has ditched the Hustler brigade.

Didmus divulged that he has faith in DP Ruto and believes he’ll be the next president.

“Juzi wakati nimesema nachukua likizo ya siasa kidogo watu wakakuwa na wasiwasi wakafikiria mimi natoka camp ile ya William Ruto. Uhusiano wangu na Ruto tulipanga zamani na tukaelewana kuwa yeye akiwa rais mimi ndio nakuwa Waziri wake wa Interior and Coordination of National Government,” he said.

Explaining the reasoning behind his recent political break, Didmus noted that he needed some time to deliberate on local politics and come up with a plan on how to make Hustler Nation popular in the region.

Didmus Barasa is a close ally of the DP and is among leaders expected to lead Ruto’s charm offensive in the Western region come the 2022 elections.

He is among the few leaders from Western region who were in 2017 elected on a Jubilee Party ticket despite the region being considered an opposition stronghold.
