Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed was put to task by Parliamentarians to explain the status of utilization of Sports Fund.
During a parliamentary session on Wednesday morning, Luanda lawmaker Chris Omulele tabled a question on the floor of the house inquiring on the status of utilization of Sports Fund.
The MP who is also a member of the Parliamentary Sports Committee sought to know from the Cabinet Secretary of Sports, Heritage, and Culture whether the current Sports Fund Chief Executive Officer is qualified for the job.
"Could the CS provide the status of the account for the funds collected under the Sports Fund established under the Sports Act 2013," said MP Omulele.
"Could the CS explain whether the CEO of the National Sports Fund Board is duly qualified, duly gazetted, and authorized to execute the mandate of the board as stipulated in the Sports Act 2013," he added.

Further, the MP asked CS Mohammed to explain how the Sports Fund Board spent money meant to construct new stadiums.
"Could the CS also give an account of the funds that the National Sports Fund Board has spent and particularly in the establishment and construction of new sports stadia and sports academies in the country?" the Luanda lawmaker stated.
This comes after it emerged in 2019 that Ksh1 billion that was set aside for Sports Ministry was released to the Health Ministry.
Angry Kenyans demanded answers after it was revealed that the Ksh1 billion set aside for the Sports Fund was given to the Health Ministry to facilitate the removal of mobile clinic containers from the National Youth Service Yard in Miritini.
