According to area police boss Thomas Ototo, a television set, a laptop and a public address system were stolen during the incident.

Ototo further noted that it is highly likely that the robbers descended on the guards while they were sleeping.

"The watchmen could have been hacked while asleep from where they had positioned themselves because there were no signs of d struggle," the police boss told a local daily.

According to Ototo, no student was attacked during the incident; an indication that the thugs were targeting assets and other valuables in the school.

Meanwhile, police have launched investigations into the robbery and appealed to locals to share any information that may lead to arrest of the perpetrators.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Webuye Hospital mortuary.
