The family of late former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Mdiwo has urged the police to investigate his death, arguing that they are concerned with the cause of death.
Addressing the media, Midiwo’s brother George Midiwo noted that the deceased was very fit person, and as such, they cannot understand how he succumbed to an acute cardiac arrest.
George noted that for the past year, his brother walked over 15 kilometers a day and had not complained of any ailments, thus creating concern among family members.
“We are going to conduct a postmortem together with the gov’t and police because he was fit and well and going about his business and usual. We have reported this matter to the police and they are carrying out their investigations and due diligence because it was of sudden onset and we need to know what really happened.

“He was a very fit person, since Covid began, he has been staying at home…He walks about 15 to 20 kilometres a day…he had never complained to me of any ailment, so we are actually concerned why he would have an acute kidney failure of sudden onset,” Midiwo’s brother said.
Jakoyo Midiwo died on Monday, July 14, 2021 after reportedly suffering an acute cardiac arrest.
He has been eulogized as a patriotic leader and a brilliant debater who fought for the rights of Kenyans during his time as a Member of Parliament.
His body is currently at the Lee Funeral Home as the family prepares for his burial.
