President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are mourning the death of former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama’s wife Mama Dorcas Pedelai Ntimama.
Mama Dorcas Ntimama died on Friday night as she was undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital.
In his message of comfort to the family, the President said losing a parent is never easy and prayed that her family finds solace in the memories she shared with her family.
President Kenyatta described Mama Dorcas Ntimama as a gracious woman who worked tirelessly for the well-being of the society and always built strong bonds of friendship, which ensured harmony and peace in her community.
"It is heartbreaking that we've lost Mama Dorcas. As a nation, we are grateful for her many years of service to Kenya especially in Narok where, with her late husband the Hon Ole Ntimama, they offered leadership and service to the community for many years”

"For those of us that interacted with Mama Dorcas, we shall miss her maternal demeanor and welcoming smile that made everyone around her comfortable,” the President said.
The Head of State prayed to God to grant the family fortitude and grace to bear the loss of their matriarch.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga also described Mama Dorcas as the bedrock to her husband’s politics and a matriarch to the Maasai community.
“Dorcas championed Maa culture and promoted education of girls. I experienced your generosity, friendship and kindness. RIP Mama,” Odinga said.
Her death comes about five years after her husband, who served as MP and Minister for 25 years. Ntimama passed on shortly after retiring to bed in his Narok Motonyi home.
