The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of the road from Waiyaki Way to Forest Road.
According to KeNHA, the road will be closed for a period of 34 days starting June 28, 2021.
The closure of the section of the road is due to the ongoing construction of the Expressway from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to James Gichuri Road in Westlands.
Motorists will pay toll charges to use the 27-kilometer highway once it is completed.
Those planning to use the road will pay Ksh300 per trip to drive on either side of the three-lane dual carriageway.
A motorist will, therefore, pay Ksh600 to drive from Mlolongo to James Gichuru and back.
This move will also affect commuters boarding matatus plying the route.
