On Thursday, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga condoled with the family of late Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama, following the death of his wife Mama Dorcas Ntimama.
In statement, the ODM party leader remembered Mama Dorcas as the matriarch of the Maasai community.
He went on to note that she was the backbone of her late husband’s strong political career that saw him grow to become a cabinet minister.
"Commiserated with the family of the late William Ole Ntimama following the passing of his widow, Mama Dorcas Ntimama. She was the bedrock of her husband’s politics and matriarch to the Maa. Dorcas championed Maa culture and promoted the education of girls," said Odinga.
His visit to the Ntimama family comes a about a week after Mama Dorcas Ntimama succumbed while she underwent treatment at the Nairobi hospital.
Odinga was accompanied by Narok Senator, Ledama Olekina among other leaders.
President Kenyatta in his message of comfort, described Mama Dorcas as a gracious woman who worked tirelessly for the wellbeing of society.
The Head of State said Mama Dorcas always built strong bonds of friendship, which ensured harmony and peace in her community.
"It is heartbreaking that we've lost Mama Dorcas. As a nation, we are grateful for her many years of service to Kenya especially in Narok where, with her late husband the Hon Ole Ntimama, they offered leadership and service to the community for many years," said President Kenyatta.
