Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the biggest obstacle to the existence of a strong candidate to challenge Deputy President William Ruto, in 2022.
In a tweet seen by Nairobi Leo, the lawyer said the President has ensured that he is the DP's only opponent.
He added that by doing this, President Kenyatta has refused to allow ODM leader Raila Odinga and the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) out of his grip.
"The biggest impediment to the BIRTH of either a strong single candidate or a unified front against DP Ruto is H.E UHURU. Uhuru by DESIGN ensures that he is Ruto's SOLE opponent and will not allow either Hon Raila to escape his tight headlock or the One Kenya Alliance to flourish!" said Ahmednasir.
The Grand Mulla as he is famously known has been a big critic of the way President Kenyatta has been doing things.
He has been calling him out on many aspects following his fallout with Deputy President William Ruto.
His remarks come a few months after he claimed that Jubilee had settled on ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi to fly its flag in the 2022 presidential race.
According to the Senior Counsel, Mudavadi will be deputized by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
Ahmednasir did, however, not provide any evidence to back his claims.
