A Nairobi court has issued an arrest warrant against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi in an extortion suit.
The court noted Mr Kingi had failed to appear severally before it in a case where four men reportedly attempted to extort him Ksh30 million.
New instructions given by the court indicated that governor Kingi and witnesses should be arrested and presented before it on Thursday.
George Ngugi, Abdul Aziz Alim, Moses Musee Maluki and Noah Akala Aduwo area accused of attempting to extort the governor.

Extortion case
The suspects pretended to be investigators from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and are accused of asking Kingi for the money ostensibly to protect the governor from a corruption probe.
The alleged offence was committed on June 20, 2018, at Gracia Hotel within Kilimani Area Nairobi City County.
In June, Milimani chief magistrate Lawrence Mugambi directed the matter be mentioned on July 15 to fix a hearing date.
The prosecution had listed over six witnesses, including Governor Kingi.
