Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga on Wednesday opined that
ODM leader Raila Odinga is a co-president to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL Show,
Mutunga noted that the opposition had joined government, and as such there are
no sharp critics of the current regime.
"…For all practical purposes, Baba is a co-President isn't he? In political and protocol terms... coalitions happen... sometimes parties come together and they do stuff in national interest or their own interests..." he said.

"I still find it difficult that we would change the Constitution on that particular issue," he said.
Mutunga's take on gender rule
On the issue of the two thirds gender rule, Dr Mutunga
believes that Parliament ought to have implemented the law and complied with
several court ruling issued previously.
“… I would say the problem is just impunity, the courts have
said it ought to be done… Disobeying court orders is actually overthrowing the
Constitution,” he said.
Meanwhile, President Kenyatta and Odinga received the BBI report
on Wednesday at a ceremony held at Kisii State lodge.
Speaking at the event, the Head of State urged Kenyans to read the report adding that the official unveiling will be done on Monday at the Bomas of Kenya.
