Faith Kipyego has won Kenya the second Gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
This is after she won the women 1,500 meters race, on top of setting a new Olympic Record.
Kipyego becomes the second Kenyan to defend her title in the Olympics after 800 meters world record holder David Rudisha.
Her victory comes a few days after Emmanuel Korir bagged Kenya’s first gold medal at the ongoing Olympics Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Korir raced to the finish line in first place in the 800m men race clocking 1:45.06 with the other Kenyan Ferguson Rotich finishing second to win silver.

Following Kipyego's victory, Kenyans have flooded social media with congratulatory messages to her.
ODM leader Raila Odinga said, "Wow. That's a fantastic run. Congratulations Faith Kipyegon for, winning the 1,500m Gold Medal and setting a new Olympic Record. The entire Nation is proud of you for successfully defending your title. Keep running and keep inspiring the youth. Hongera!"
