Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has issued a statement after he was removed as the Kilifi county ODM Chairman and replaced by Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire.
In the statement, Kingi thanked ODM party leader Raila Odinga for giving him the opportunity to serve as the party head in Kilifi County for the past nine years.
He went on to say that he made the party dominants in the region making Kilifi the only county whose elected Members of County Assembly are from the same party.
"As I respect the decision of the ODM party to replace me as the Kilifi County ODM Party Chairman, I wish to take this opportunity to thank the Party and more particularly, the party leader the Rt Hon. Raila Odinga, for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Kilifi County ODM Chairman for the past nine years."
"During my tenure as the Kilifi County ODM chairman, I steered the party to great success and made sure that ODM became the dominants Party in the County, a fact that was confirmed during the last general election when Kilifi became the only County in the Country to deliver a clean sweep for the ODM Party in all elective positions," said Governor Kingi.

He also wished the incoming Chairman the best as he leads the ODM team in the county.
"I hope and pray that the incoming Chair and his team will match and/or break this sterling record. I wish the Party the very best not just in Kilifi County, but across the country as it prepares itself for the 2022 elections. God bless," he added.
Kingi was removed as the Kilifi ODM chairperson over what is believed to be disloyalty to the Orange party.
He has also been pushing for the formation of a coalition by five Coast-based parties.
Kingi is reported to have registered a party called Pamoja Alliance (PAA) which he intends to use to unify the Coast region ahead of 2022.
