The Government through Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya has ordered the closure of all wines and spirits in Bahati, Nakuru County.
The order by Mr. Natembeya comes after the death of ten people who consumed illicit brew on Tuesday in Bahati.
According to Nakuru County Chief Officer of Medical Services, Dr. Solomon Sirma, 16 more people are still being treated following the incident.
An expectant mother is fighting for her life at the Nakuru County Teaching and Referral Hospital after consuming illicit alcohol.
Police officers have since launched a crackdown against illicit liquor in Hodi Hodi and JC villages in Bahati where the incidences occurred.
