It is still not clear what led to Mrs Onunga's death as the same is yet to be revealed to the public.
The late Mrs Onunga was a key figure in Embakasi East politics and played a key role in ODM’s win in the past election.
She was instrumental in spearheading ODM activities in the Constituency and across the larger Nairobi County region.
Her death is a major blow to ODM as it comes at a time when the party is building its grassroots support base ahead of the 2022 General Election.
Last week, the party announced that it was exploring consensus as an option of selection officials to serve in various capacities at its various offices across the country.
Meanwhile, the party has been conducting a nationwide registration drive aimed at increasing its membership ahead of the next polls.
The ODM team is keen on ensuring its structures are in place as we move closer to the much-anticipated 2022 polls.
