The national government is seeking to re-evaluate the impact of loosening restrictions on containment of Covid-19 as new infections keep rising.
In what could be a possible turn to reinstallation of strict measures to curb infections across the country, President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for an extraordinary summit.
The head of state will convene the sixth extra-ordinary summit on November 4, 2020 to review the surge in Covid-19 infections in Kenya.
"The session has been convened in light of the resurgence of Covid-19 infections across our nation, as exhibited by the fact that Kenya has recorded its highest number of Covid-19 monthly fatalities in October 2020.
"The session shall consider the evolution of the disease as well as the epidemiological models on how Covid-19 may propagate within our country over the months of November and December 2020," an announcement by the office of the President reads partly.

At the summit, stakeholders will seek to evaluate the efficacy of the containment measures in place and the impact of easing the restrictions.
State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena in a press statement said the president has also appealed to Kenyans to continue observing individual and collective responsibility measures as a weapon against Covid-19.
She indicated that the president was concerned Kenya could lose all the gains made against the pandemic.
