  • According to the billionaire, he has made sufficient preparations and is ready to battle it out with whoever UDA clears for the seat.

Uasin Gishu politician Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki, who also doubles u as a billionaire businessman has said he won’t join UDA Party associated with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 elections.

Speaking in Eldoret during the funeral service of businesswoman Ruth Njambi, Buzeki noted that he will contest the Uasin Gishu Gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.

Justifying his decision not to join UDA despite Uasin Gishu being the home turf of DP Ruto, Buzeki appeared to suggest that he is not interested in taking part in nominations and marketing of a new political party, owing to the challenges that come with it.

He further noted that he has made sufficient preparations and is ready to battle it out with whoever UDA clears for the seat.

“I have decided I will wait for all those battling in UDA so that they do what they are doing and then we meet in the premier league where I am fully prepared for the race,” Buzeki was quoted by The Star.

The 2022 election will be Buzeki’s second stab at the Uasin Gishu Gubernatorial position after he unsuccessfully contested for it in the 2017 election.

Being the home turf of the DP who has been championing UDA Party, Buzeki is expected to face stiff competition from whoever will be nominated by UDA.

Some of the leaders who are reportedly eying the governorship come 2022 include; Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Nairobi County Environment Executive Veska Kangogo, Businessman Jonathan Bii, Uasin Gishu County Assembly Chief Whip David Singoei, Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat and former TSC Vice Chair Cleophas Tirop among others.
