Three siblings were on Tuesday evening burnt to death in a house fire at Turi Farm in Elburgon, Nakuru County.

The three; two girls and one boy aged 6, 5, and 4 years were left at home by their dad when the fire broke out.

According to their dad, he stepped out to get some milk leaving the kids asleep, unfortunately, he got a call informing him that his house was on fire.

The dad further noted that he had lit a jiko in a separate room, adding that the kids were alone in the house as he had separated with the wife a few years ago.

“I hurriedly came back home and found neighbours fighting the fire," he was quoted by Nation.

Confirming the incident, the area police boss said the fire broke out on Tuesday evening at around 7:00 pm.

An investigation has commenced to establish the exact cause of the fire. Meanwhile, bodies of the three siblings have been taken to Elburgon Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

The incident comes hours after two kids who were reportedly poisoned by their dad were laid to rest in Nakuru.

The two were buried alongside their dad who succumbed after allegedly injecting an unknown substance to his system.

Investigations are still ongoing to establish how the three died as previous autopsies have not been conclusive.
