Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said he does not have a preferred candidate for the 2022 gubernatorial race.
Speaking during a recent event in the county, Joho noted that his term will elapse in 2022, adding that after that, it is for Mombasa residents to decide who their next governor will be.
He said he will not endorse anyone and encouraged the contestants to sell their agenda and square it out fairly at next year’s polls.
“My brothers who are fighting for the governor’s seat, may God wish you well. Let them fight for their positions. I have done enough and next year will leave the office,” he was quoted by Nation.
Joho is currently serving his final term as governor and will be leaving office after the 2022 polls.
