Presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjingi has disclosed that one of the sponsors of his Maina Wanjigi Foundation is popular American Talk Show Host Oprah Winfrey.
Speaking on Thursday, November 18, when he met with students at Mount Kenya University at Thika, Wanjigi stated that his foundation looks into empowering the next crop of leaders in the continent.
"It was sponsored by Oprah Winfrey. It is producing the next group of leaders in the continent. I want to spot that talent here. I want to have massive competition," Wanjigi remarked.

He narrated how using his foundation would create a competition that will then sponsor 25 students to study in South Africa for the African Leadership Academy.
"The future is here, and I am just the revolutionary in the heads of revolutionaries; I am the revolutionary ahead of revolutioners. I am opening the door for you to enter.
"I am here to give you hope about the future. Msiwe na hofu sana, huko mbele tutatengeneza lakini si kwa uongo, tutatengeneza kwa vitendo,"Wanjigi added.
The businessman popularized his presidential bid with students from five universities/colleges attending the event.
Mr. Wanjigi has intensified campaigns across the country in his quest to win the ODM presidential ticket ahead of the 2022 general election.
He recently declared that he was ready to take on former Premier Raila Odinga for the ODM presidential ticket.
“ODM is a democratic party and I am all set to face Raila in the 2022 presidential nominations should he vie for the seat on this ticket. I welcome the challenge and I am confident I will defeat him," Wanjigi told the press.
