The Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has stated that the Government will not bow to the demands of politicians.
Speaking in Kajiado on Wednesday, November 25, after attending the devolution conference, Matiang'i reassured that administration officers discharging their duties would be protected from the threats of politicians wanting to fire and transfer them.
He was presiding over a ceremony of the installation of Principal Chief Wilson Mpapayo of Ntashat Location, Kajiado County. He acknowledged that some of his juniors had been threatened.
"We are aware of many demands and threats from politicians to fire or transfer some of our National Government Administration Officers, but as government we will not give in to such pressure," Matiangi disclosed.

During the devolution conference at Makueni, Matiangi had called for an intervention on climate change since the damages of climatic change fueled insecurities in nomadic areas.
He then appealed to the County governments to develop their own security infrastructures as the National Government would support them.
"Conflicts resulting from climate change have forced us to redesign our national security strategies. Focusing on grassroots conflict resolution, we as the National Government support the push to have Counties develop their own security infrastructures," Matiangi stated.
The conference saw the launch of Ugatuzi Sacco, a project of the Council of Governors, which is an investment and savings platform for all Kenyans. The purpose of the Sacco is to ensure affordable financial services to its members.
