The High Court has directed the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to establish the whereabouts of Ethiopian businessman Samson Gebreigzi Teklemichael who was abducted by people alleged to be security officers in Nairobi.
The court further directed the ODPP to appear in court on Monday, November 29, with answers.
This is after Lawyer Stanley Kang'ahi filed an application at the High Court on behalf of the Ethiopian businessman, asking the court to compel the Inspector General of Police to produce him.
In the application certified as urgent, Kang'ahi asked the court not to allow the businessman's removal out of its jurisdiction as he could be deported out of the country.
He also sought to have the court order for the businessman's release.

Teklemichael's wife, Milen Halefoam Mezgebo, in an affidavit, said she was fearful and apprehensive that her husband could be in danger.
She revealed that all efforts by herself and her family to inquire about the businessman's whereabouts were unsuccessful.
Tekklemichael was abducted in broad daylight on Sunday, November 21 along Oloitoktok Road in Nairobi.
According to videos of the incident shared online, two men accosted him from his Bentley into an awaiting car.
A traffic police officer was present at the scene and held the door as the alleged security officers took Tekklemichael away.
His car was left parked along the road and his wife was contacted by a friend to go and collect it.
