A woman who missed admission to the university 14 years ago despite posting stellar performance has been served a reprieve.
Milly Nafula has gotten a life-changing opportunity after landing a full scholarship to study at Mount Kenya University.
This comes after her story got featured on various media stations sparking outrage and sympathy in equal measure.
Nafula, despite scoring grade A-, failed to join university because, she said, of lack of an admission letter.

Speaking during the MKU 20th graduation ceremony, Mt Kenya University chairman Prof Simon Gicharu said she has offered Nafula scholarship, including catering for her personal expenses.
"I was touched when I saw her story on TV. I asked myself, how can we, as Kenyans, allow her to stay at home for so many years just because she was not admitted to a university.
"I would like to inform this congregation that we will give a scholarship to her. This will enable her to actualise her dream," Gicharu announced.
Nafula will join the institution to pursue a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree.
When narrating her story, she revealed that she had high hopes of becoming a doctor but the defunct Joint Admissions Board (JAB) failed her by denying her an admission letter.
JAB was replaced by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
"I was also advised to go to Nairobi to ask about the matter, but because I could not afford the fare, I wrote a letter to the board through the District Officer in Kitale in 2009. He sent the letter, but there was no response," the mother of two explained
