Sifuna announced that he will seek the Senate seat on the ODM party ticket.

ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has declared that he will vie for the Nairobi Senatorial seat in the 2022 elections.

In a statement on Facebook on Thursday, December 16, Sifuna announced that he will seek the seat on the Orange party ticket.

He at the same time revealed a change of his polling station.

"I will henceforth vote at Loresho Primary School in Westlands Constituency. I will be vying for the Nairobi County Senatorial seat in 2022 on The ODM Party Ticket," he said.

This is the second time Sifuna will be seeking the Nairobi senatorial seat.

In 2017, he came in second to Senator Johnstone Sakaja who vied on a Jubilee party candidate.

Sakaja is eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022 polls.

Other leaders who have declared interest in the Nairobi Senate-Assembly seat include Lawyer Karen Nyamu who is eyeing the UDA party ticket.

Nominated MP Maina Kamanda is rumoured to be seeking the same seat but he is yet to come clear on it.
