Kenya recorded 1,109 new coronavirus infections from a sample pool of 7,153 tested in the last 24 hours.
The country’s caseload now stands at 60,704 and the cumulative samples tested so far to 730,363.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Health said that from the new cases, 1,073 are Kenyans while 36 are foreigners. 699 are male while 410 are female. The youngest patient is 1-year-old while the oldest is 91.
The coronavirus death toll has risen to 1,093 after 21 people succumbed.
According to MoH, 8556 were from Home-Based Isolation and Care while 82 were discharged from various hospitals across the country.

The total number of recoveries so far has risen to 40,131 after 938 people recovered from the disease.
Patients admitted In hospital
1,300 patients are currently admitted to various hospitals countrywide while 5,439 are receiving care at home.
60 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where 27 are on ventilatory support while 27 others are on supplementary oxygen.
MoH said 89 patients are on supplementary oxygen; 75 of those are in general wards while 14 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
