Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now wants Deputy President William Ruto to respect his CCK party following an impressive performance in Meru's Kiagu Ward by-election.
The MP, who is the party leader of CCK, is over the moon despite losing after his candidate Milton Mwenda came in second with 1823 votes.
DP Ruto's UDA candidate Kiambi Simon won the race after garnering 2440 votes.
MP Kuria opines that the performance of his party in Kiagu Ward by-election has proved DP Ruto and his allies wrong after they labelled his party small and tribal party.
"You (Kiagu residents) have demonstrated that we are not a regional party, an ethnic party nor a small party. We deserve respect or in the absence of which the least we request is less kiburi and less madharau. 2022 here we come," he said.

Though he did not mention DP Ruto's name, MP Kuria's remarks come in the back of the DP's scathing attack at Kuria's CCK party and Former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri's TSP where labelled them small and tribal parties.
The two leaders were ardent stalwarts of the DP and they had hoped to work with him in the 2022 race through an alliance.
However, the DP told them off saying whoever wants to work with him should fold his party and join UDA.
The DP's dismissal saw them retreat in their support towards his bid as they embarked on popularising their parties.
This saw Kuria field a candidate against the UDA party which he has been partnering with in the previous polls.
Kuria's CCK party pulled a surprise after giving the UDA party a run for their money and even beating the ruling Jubilee party.
