Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka reportedly survived a poisoning attempt at a political rally and was rushed to hospital on Friday, December 17.
The MP while speaking to the people at Ibacho, Kisii County attended by Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati when he started oozing blood from his mouth at the full glare of the media.
He then made several attempts to prevent the blood from coming out of his mouth before he started vomiting and the situation got out of hand.
His aides rushed him to Oasis Specialist Hospital in Kisii town.

Addressing the press, Arati stated that that Onyonka had been handed a bottle of water by an unidentified person.
"When he took the water, he felt the taste was different and immediately spat it out. However, his body reacted immediately and he started vomiting with blood oozing from his mouth," Arati remarked.
"The doctors are yet to determine what chemical substances Mr. Onyonka ingested from the bottle of water but have warned that the substance ingested would have been fatal if it found its way into the stomach lining of Mr. Onyonka."
The parliamentarian stated that the MP was safe and recuperating well at his home.
He further revealed that the unidentified person is being sought by the authorities while calling on Kenyans who attended the event to disclose any information to the local police station.
His counterpart, Kisii County Assembly Deputy Speaker, Davins Onuso called out the shambolic act stating that he was deeply concerned over the poisoning attempt.
Onyoka recently defected to Orange Democratic Movement from Ford Kenya Party where he was the Deputy Party Leader. He was welcomed by the party leader Raila Odinga.
“I was in ODM 20 years ago and yet I never understood your (Raila Odinga) plans for Kenya. This is the man I have been waiting to be president before I retire,” remarked Onyonka.
