Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has dismissed Deputy President William Ruto's campaign promises for the Coast region.
This comes after the DP pledged to support farmers from Kilifi County so that residents will no longer die of hunger.
DP Ruto said his government will ensure farmers are given financial support to enable them to produce more and meet their needs.
"It is a pity that more than half a century after independence, people in some parts of our country such as Kilifi still die of hunger. From next year, the UDA administration will offer financial support to farmers to improve production," he tweet.
The statement irked the Kilifi Governor who responded to the tweet with a savage message.

Governor Kingi told off the DP saying he did nothing for his people while he was serving as a minister of agriculture.
According to the county boss, the DP prioritized Rift Valley farmers while he was at the helm of agriculture and did nothing to the Coast region farmers.
"It's a pity that when you served as Agriculture Minister, You did absolutely nothing to help the poor Coast Farmers. You neglected and marginalised coast farmers when you had the power and resources to change their lives. Instead, you prioritized Rift Valley. Shame on you," he responded.
Kingi, who recently launched his party, has declared that he will support ODM leader Raila Odinga for the presidency.
