Billionaire businessman and presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi has been set free following his dramatic arrest on Tuesday evening, January 18.
The businessman was on Wednesday, January 19 arraigned before the Milimani Law Courts.
Chief Magistrate Bernard Ochoi released Wanjigi on grounds of conservatory orders issued on Tuesday restraining the Inspector General (IG) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) from arresting Wanjigi.
"In light of the submissions by the parties herein, it is noted that the high court issued conservative orders
"Therefore this matter cannot proceed unless the petition is heard," said Magistrate Ochoi.

Earlier today, lawyers representing Wanjigi protested his arraignment and prosecution citing violating of the order issued by Justice Antony Mrima.
"The order is to the effect which restrained the first and second respondents from instituting, arresting, registering and or continuing any criminal charge or charges against Wanjigi," lawyer Willis Otieno told the court.
Ochoi halted prosecution of the businessman to verify an order that had stopped his arrest until February 9.
