ODM leader Raila Odinga on Sunday, February 13, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two, among other issues, discussed the need to strengthen Kenya-India relations.
"Prime Minister Modi expressed his happiness at being able to meet Mr. Odinga after almost three and half years. Prime Minister recollected his multiple interactions with Mr. Odinga since 2008 in both India and Kenya, as well as the latter’s support to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2009 and 2012.
"The two leaders also discussed other issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister expressed his commitment to further strengthening India-Kenya relations," a statement by India's PM read.

On the other hand, Raila tweeted, "Delighted to have had warm discussions with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our nations share a fond bond as many Kenyans have for decades attended universities here.
"My hope is that we shall strengthen ties and learn more from each other in the years ahead."

Odinga is away in India for the treatment of his eldest daughter, Rosemary Odinga.
On Monday, February 7, an online Indian news outlet revealed that Odinga's visit was a follow-up check-up on his daughter Rosemary's eye ailments.
