A 28-year-old man is on the run after allegedly beating his wife to death over the weekend. The incident occurred in Ngendarel village, Angata location.
According to reports, the man, Charles Langat, was involved in a domestic brawl with his wife since identified as Irene Chebet, 23, on Saturday morning, February 19, 2022.
In the incident, Langat wounded her head, back, hands and left leg using what is presumed to be a sharp object.
A police report filed by the deceased's brother revealed that Chebet was rushed to a nearby health centre but unfortunately died while undergoing treatment.
The husband fled after committing the heinous act and the police officers are yet to locate the weapon Langat used to inflict the injuries on his wife.
Chebet's body was moved to Kegonga mortuary pending an autopsy.
The incident adds to the numerous cases of domestic violence leading up to murders reported in the country in recent days.
