Deputy President William Ruto's camp has launched an onslaught against the government of Kenya over the rising prices of food prices in Kenya.

In a press conference held in Meru county on Monday morning, in a joint statement led by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, in presence of Kenya Kwanza leaders including Ruto and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangu'ula, the alliance demanded answers in the rising prices of commodities.

On top of their blame list for the ballooning debt is the Handshake deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"The public debt before the Handshake was Sh4.5 trillion. But after the Handshake, the debt is now at Sh11 trillion. We are asking, was the Handshake meant to balloon the public debt?" Kenya Kwanza posed.

The Alliance further demanded that the Government should not borrow money any further in this transition period.

According to the Alliance, the government should focus its resources currently on addressing the rising cost of food prices in the country.

They further addressed the looming budget allocation asking the government to implement the 35 percent allocation to county governments as addressed in the BBI.
